tsp 220r cam 112lsa question/compare
#1
I have had my cam in my truck for a little over a week now and what i dont understand is why the power doesnt feel any different. I know i wont get the full benefit of this cam till i get a converter and headers but im just kinda pissed i spent 1000 and theres no difference, still feels like my old tune. Justin is working on my random missfire codes that keep randomly coming up and my warm restarts. Any body have any input for this?

you run a 285/70/17 tire and stock gears with 220 cam that doesnt start pulling till 3500 on a stock stall ??
There was a much better cam suited for your needs..212/218
OR spend money on a stall n exhaust with gears
If you wanted to just put a cam in with no other upgrades a 212/218 would have been perfect...lowend power and doesnt require a stall or exhaust
When i ran the 212/218 on stock parts it did great and pulled really well all over VERY noticeable
I also ran TR220 but wasnt impressed with it because it needed gears and a 3600 stall..my 3000 and stock gears didnt like the 220

I am running a LS6 cam and 243 heads
That setup has has no noticeable loss of bottomend with the pull of the tr220 on topend.
My tr220 was lazy under 3000 and power really didnt hit till 3500.
With my 3.42 gears and yank tt 3000 stall its actually faster E.T. and MPH than the 220 was
I have some info comparing the 220 to my ls6 cam both cams were run on 243 heads
Search my old posts but here is one https://www.performancetrucks.net/fo...-tr220-490186/
