Interesting, so headers will allow for more advance or/and a tighter duration without disrupting the intake flow?

Well at this point since you're looking for ideas, I'll throw my cam setup in the mix for ya. Ive got the Isky 212/.561/112 from stock48 and Im pretty happy with how it's done so far. Even with the bone stock trans and exhaust manifolds/y-pipe it made 300/310. Ive since added LTs/ORY and 3-inch cat-back and Blackbear tune, makes around 340/330 now. In town milage is like 12-14 and highway is 18-20. I even managed to still get 17mpg with a misfire and pulling a car and trailer 200miles lol.

The cam starts pulling really good around 2500-2600, so a 2800 stall would make things just about perfect for me.

a 3200 stall is still very very streetable and able to tow
I towed with the 220 cam and 3200 stall all the time with no problems. it was also my daily driver

Isn't that cam designed for boosted trucks? But those certainly are good dyno numbers.

I'm about to pull the trigger on the Trick 216/220. It's dirt cheap and lets me use ls6 springs, so its a good inexpensive way for me to dive into the world of cams.

Yes. My bad. I shouldn't be on the forums before I've had my morning coffee.

Not really per say. It just happens to work really well with boost. It provides the low-mid to get moving and lets the top end carry enough for a turbo to work. PM Stock48 and he would probably be more than happy to suggest a cam.

From what I can tell in my truck, this cam only feels slightly softer off idle than stock, but once it hits 2500 its a whole different game. Mid range pulls very strong and the top end isnt peaky, but pulls just fine in my truck all the way to 63-6400. Even with my stock trans and converter, I can do a burnout from a 5-10mph roll. With a different converter this would be even easier.

Video for fun

Yes headers allow for more overlap and allow the engine to cooperate better with more advance. The proper headers will allow for more flow while increasing velocity of the exhaust and literally suck the exhaust out of the combustion chamber... with overlap in the cam it also helps to suck the air into the cylinder from the intake port.

So I talked to Stock48 and he recommended a 210/216, .532/.532 108lsa.
