In a 5.3 that bitch will sing! It'll make great torque. I would probably only add 2* advance if it were mine... keep the overlap closer to TDC. On a 108 ICL it will have a really solid mid range

would still recommend a higher stall converter.

I got a 220/581/112 in my 4.8. Pulls good but your going to need a stall.

Most likely going to go with a TB converter, is that too little? I'd prefer to use this converter because my current trans is stock, except servo and transgo hd2.

So throwing a 100 dollar converter in it seems like a good idea, because I won't have any hurt feelings nuking the cheap converter when the whole trans goes out. Then the whole thing will need an overhaul and at that time a nice converter can go in with all other upgraded internals.

What would you consider ideal? I'm also trying to not destroy my mpg if possible, whereas I feel anything over 3k stall will do so.

A cam with that much overlap in a 5.3 will hurt MPG in any situation outside of maybe highway cruising.

I would say at a minimum for it to feel strong off the line you will want a 3000.

What cam grind would match a 2600 stall better? I'm really trying to just gain as much as possible while losing nothing
