haha 1slow you like to see me answer questions that i post to with little FIRST hand experience aside from reading. i think touchofevil has the pop smilie maybe? well ive had a few this evening if you know what i mean so im not so sure if my posit is going to make total sense but using the equation for overlep i would just finagle the duration and LSA to stay around the negative fifty-sh that the gt2-3 is at but maybe with a little more duration. im not so sure where the reverse split comment came from really, i was not together then either. but i wouldnt go with such a tight LSA where there would be only a little neg. overlap or even positive overlap cuz you'll be bleeding off your boost before using it up. dont let me answer your questions. i just hand out ideas like candy and then you have to go and research them yourself to see if it makes sense and works or not.

sorry, been a fun evenening

in a 5.3, opinions?

I would like to get the 112HH, 3000 stall, longtubes, and all the other stuff to make 500/500 if possible (after I graduate in May )

Just wonder which way I should go if I am able to get a cam for Christmas.

My other option I am looking at is a GT2-3, but I want to get everything out of the set up I can

I'm interested to see how this works out for you, btw LPE has a similar spec'd cam, but I believe it has more lift I believe it's the GT11

let us know how you like it

I think that cam would work well if you were doing 1/8 mile racing, but other than that, no. That cam in a 5.3L is going to need some rpm and spinning a Radix that high is just going to create quite a bit of heat. You'd also need better rod bolts to go with it because of the rpm range you'd want to run it at to get full use of it.

We had a 5.3 Ex Cab truck come in and we set him up with the AFR 205cc heads, our TR BlowR camshaft, and the Radix(8-9lbs). The truck has 22" wheels and Geoff(owner of TR) tuned it conservatively with with 18* timing and 11.5 A/F. It put down 422rwhp and 446rwtq. Here is the dynograph of his pull. It definitely has even more potential with a more aggressive tune.

Very tame. I would compare it to our 224-114 camshaft in a 5.7LS engine. Small lope at idle and not to involved for tuning on driveability. Truck runs and drives great. This guy doesn't race it, he just wanted the power and for show.

outstanding, between the dyno sheet and your statement I'd say thats a pretty good endorsement for this cam in a 5.3 application

Good info. Did this truck have any other mods. Would it be possible to hit 500/500 with this cam? Would a 3000 stall be appropriate for this cam? Thanks

It had long tube headers and good exhaust, but I can't remember if he had a looser stall or not. With a more aggressive tune and stock wheels it would definitely do anywhere from 450-475rwhp.
