did my cam swap today, didn't get all of it done since i forgot to order the 3 bolt cam gear and bolts..... is it highly recommended to do the ls2 chain dampener that came in the dod delete kit or can i be safe using the stock one? Also has anybody broken the 10mm head bolts that are more towards the intake? i broke 2 of them today luckily they came out with no problem. Can't wait to finish this up!

FWIW, the L33 uses the LS2 timing chain setup without using the dampener. I'm sure others do as well, seeing how the LS2 chain became the normal chain used by GM back in 2004 or 2005.

I reused my stock chain, tensioner, and crank gear on my 2007. I had 112,000 miles on it when I did the swap last year, have over 130,000 now. Let us know how it turns out.
