I have a 210/218 .551 .551 112 in my 6L/Radix. So far so good. This was in a brand new LQ4. Changed the rod bolts (Kaetech), springs, hardened pushrods, Kaeteck oil pump and was done.

the reason im asking is i have a vortech with a futral 213-219-15 +3 cam. well i did have one it spoun a cam bearing . so im etting a new lq9 motor and i want to get another cam i just dont want anything to happen. im not looking to rebuild the whole motor just for new cam bearings.I just want to see if anyone has had any troubles with the same stuff or if you have had good luck with your set up and maybe some ideas of why this happened to me so i can avoid it next time around

Doesnt cammotions build cams for futral? If so there have been others that have spun cam bearings.

I say do the install yourself. I dont have that good of mechanic skills and only basic hand tools(I had to buy a valvespring compressor from Napa and pen magnets) and I did mine myself. It actaully a lot easier than it seems. I used the ls1how-to write up to guide me through it.

All ya gotta do is pull the radiator, water pump. front cover, cam gear, and cam retainer and your there. Springs are another story though, I reccomend have 2 ppl for that job(at least with my experience) Took us about 3 hours for that.
