So i found a lq4 i think..it was hard to see the pistons..its out of a 2002 3/4 work truck 70,000 miles..will this still handle the power of 241 heads low 10.xx compression i assume.., 230/226 .597/.573 cam and 150 shot??
which rod bolts..head bolts, and head gaskets should i use?? i dont want the stretchy basterds unless thats it..

I think the LQ4 will handle the power you are talking about. Rod bolts either Katech or ARP. If you are worried about popping head gaskets ARP studs should work nicely.

I think you are gonna end up blowing a rod out the side of the block again....

IMO you need to build a forged engine...

You could use the ARP head bolts, they are not torque to yield, and some cometic gaskets. That would be a nice setup I believe.

All 8 of my LQ4 rods were bent when my motor popped a piston. This was with 10-12lbs of boost though.

Another Option for Rod Bolts is the Late model LS6/LS2 bolts.

GM Part Number: 11610158 (quantity 1)

ARPs are nice too, but even with the GM bolts you're break a rod/piston before the rod bolts let go...
