Alot of great info in this thread from different views. If you want a fun but more docile DD, go smaller, but if you want to go fast, listen to the guys who have already been there! One thing is for sure, if the cam doesn't match the converter it will really narrow your usable power, kill your track times and your fun factor...and isn't that what we're here for, the fun?

It all depends on how you intend to use/drive the truck, and your setup needs to be matched to optimize performance and or economy. Different folks have different opinions on what is "daily driveable" also. Since the thread starter is set on a 3600 converter (a point I missed when I originally read his first post), then a larger duration cam is necessary to match the converter to the powerband. For someone like myself who wants a tame dd with the factory verter, along with long valve spring life, my cam is perfect. (although I do plan to change it up if I can ever afford to build my LQ9...220/224 .551 114 cam, 3K converter, and WCCH stageII's )
