Quite often a lack of low end torque is a tuning issue. My truck puts down as much or more torque at 2700rpm as a stocker does. I posted the dyno sheet to show it and my dyno was done with the converter locked which would also show a bit lower torque number than the torque spike you can get from an unlocked converter dyno. My cam is what some would consider to be big for a 5.3L. The 3600 stall was something that stuck right out in the first post. Inch Up also posted a comment on the converter.

I want significantly more torque down low than stock. And 2700 is about 500 rpms higher than I go in normal city driving.

I'm gonna look up your dyno when I get a chance. I like that 222/224 maybe in a 6.0.

I didn't really dyno it any lower than that. If I'm wide open I don't really tend to spend much time below 2700rpm and I've never dyno'd at part throttle. I've worked on the tuning a bit more since then and think I might be able to squeeze a bit more torque out of it yet at the bottom. The 6.0L with the same cam is very nice even down low especially if you have any LQ9. A couple of my friends are running the same cam.

With a stock converter that would be on the edge of being where you want with an LQ9 (I believe what your truck has???). One of the guys with a Silverado SS has the same cam with a stock converter and is very happy with it. He's a member on here, but I have to dig into my brain to remember his name. For a stock converter though and all around performance I'd look into a 216-220 range on a 112-114LSA. I've done the XER273HR in an SSS with a stock converter and it was ok, but below 3k felt like it was stock.

this is just my opinion, but for whoever wants the FEEL the power on low end 2500rpm and under then dont do a cam swap, do a gear swap or a converter that is where you will definately notice power..... so in my opinion, it is not smart to put do a cam swap if you thats what you are looking for, that is a waste of money..
