Default solid roller vs hydraulic roller

can some one give me the advantages and disadvantages of going solid vs hydraulic roller?

i know the basics, like adjusting the valvetrain periodically. and will have more wear on parts( spring cam etc)

but is there that much more power to be had with a solid? i know in a car where its spun to past 6500 rpms it will really shine but in a truck im not to sure.

same difference, no? I ran solids on my bike for a short while with a big cam. More noise, less float and the things you mentioned.

I personally couldn't live with the valve noise from a solid lifter setup in anything I drive a lot.

Solid is going to be for a huge cam. You need super springs to control the valve with that type of cam at high RPM, the hydraulic lifter cannot deal with that stress. I don't know how much cam you will need to meet your goal? Hopefully not that much. You may need some pretty serious springs though.

yeah this wont be for high rpms so i think hydraulic should be ok , im just thinking about trying to crack the exhaust valves open is going to be hard on the hydraulic lifters with all that pressure in them.
