Default Question about a cam.

i dont know what cam i should go with right now. my setup is a 5.3 fully bolt on. with a 2800 pi stall.
i was kinda looking into a 224/230 114 lsa
but i dont know if the stall is good enough for it. i seen people putting this cam with a stock torque converter which is kind of where im stuck at.
so what cam should i go with?

that is too much cam for that tc. you either need more stall or less cam. something around a 212/218 or 220 would be nice. what gears are you running?

I have stock gears 3.42 . but I have 373 haven't had time to get them installed. The 212 218 is what I was also looking into. I heard that with that cam I don't need to switch out the springs or pushrods?

you will have to swap out both the springs for either some good singles or duals and hardened pushrods. 7.4s if your are running stock heads and head gasket.

if its fairly low mileage i wouldnt hesitate to pull the trigger on that at all and then look for springs, seals, pushrods later. thats a proven cam in a 4.8 or 5.3
