Default oil pump pickup tube o ring

Putting the timing chain on the 6.0, and noticed my pickup tube fit a little loose. It has room to wiggle the tube without the retainer tight. I've re installed the tube multiple times. Here's a pic of the o ring.

Notice the flat edges on the outside and inside. Is this normal? Other than that the o ring looks great.

Could just a similar size o ring work? I'm worried after reading people having problems with these.

Get a new one. Get it from the dealer only.

Mine was flattened too and would not seal up again. There's a fatter revised one for the trucks. I forgot what color, but the dealer should know exactly what you need.

ALWAYS replace the o-ring. If the sides are flat that's a good indication that it will not seal well anymore.

I think the truck rings are green. Cars red? I might be wrong because the other day I did a pan gasket and replaced the pump ring since i was there and gm sent me a red one. Fit tight and had oil pressure so I guess thats the new ring.
