i just got the "muscle car" oil pan kit from GMPP for my t-type(Chevrolet Performance Musclecar Oil Pan Kits 19212593 - SummitRacing.com), and it came with a red o-ring on the pickup tube.

well it depends on what year the 6.0 is because it could use the blue or red. Earlier 6.0 used the blue.

I grabbed both o rings because I wasn't sure what revision I needed. Should i use the blue or red. Its a iron headed 2000 6.0. What's the best way to install these without pinching them? Put it on the pickup tube first?

Most likely it is the red one. Does the pick up tube have the recessed indentation where the o ring goes?

Just installed the o ring. The blue seemed to fit the best. To oakley: The pickup tube did not have a spot recessed for the o ring. I guess we will find out when the motor is installed. The dealership did not keep these on hand. Kind of surpirsed me that they did not keep these in stock. Dealerships ftl

I get mine from a local seal supplier. I use viton seals only. They hold their round profile for a very long time and do not harden from heat. Started using them years ago. No problems or failures.
