Alright thanks a lot man I really appreciate it. I'd hate to put a shiny new cam in it and it get ruined right away.

I would highly recommend you put a set of lifters in it as well..... Just to save from tearing the cam up... Gen iv engines seem to have lifter issues...particularly in the trucks....

Yep was planning on getting the full set of lifters with the dod delete kit

BTR says the stage 4 truck cam would work fine with square port heads so I think I might go with that or possibly the stage 3 when I finally pull the trigger. With probably a 3000 stall converter.

I think youre going to end up wanting more lift, those seem like such baby cams... Although hell the cam i had in my truck was a 222/224 .566/.568 112 and it is honestly no slouch just nowhere near optimal for my engine.... Or my goals....if my truck was 2wd and not lifted i probably wouldve been happier with it... But im thinking about throwing that cam in the 5.3 in my yukon simply to get rid of the damn dod drone and bog... Hell i think it would get better fuel mileage with a cam than it does now... 10.5 mpg avg sucks!!! Sorry went on a tangent there...

My truck is 4wd and not lifted and I have no desire to lift it. I think a lot of the reasoning for this recommendation was because I wanted a nice lope.

This is probably a stupid question but what does higher lift get you?
