Default newbie cam question

hi everyone ive been lurking around for a while reading and trying to learn but now ive got a question I really need some experienced opinions about if you all don't mind?

223/227duration .626/.598 lift 115.5+2 comp cam would this be to much for a daily driver with ported, milled 241 heads with 2.02 and 1.6 valves 62 cc. good price on the stuff comes with pushrods whats your guys opinion and what size converter would be recommended, if at all, the truck will also be getting a single fi kit. currently is a 02 Tahoe 5.3 4wd with 4.10 thanks everyone for their time

Yes you absolutely can have negative overlap, I wouldn't run that cam without a higher then stock stall converter. In a 5.3 and a Tahoe that cam is a bit larger then I would care to run. Again that's just my opinion. I would bring both the intake and exhaust duration down a bit and narrow up the lsa. Do you have any flow numbers on the heads? What's the exhaust setup? Headers?

the cam was supposedly specked for the heads, however that was while they were in a ls1 fbody that was using a 4k converter, which im not really interested in using for a daily driver, i tried to locate something equilavant to get an idea of the power range but had no luck what so ever

Yea spec'd for an F body with a 4k stall tells the entire story here.

Its too much for a DD without question. You can do better. Don't make the mistake of trying to buy parts around a cam that's not ideal for your truck and how you use it.

Pat is spot on with this one. Less duration and a tighter LSA will do you well.

something in the ball park of a 218/222 on a 112+2 with a 3000-3200 converter would have a nice idle, a meaty mid range, and shift just north of 6k.

Do you think a turbo kit would work well with stated cam and converter as well
