Default Need some opinions on my intake

I figure this is the best section to put this in. I have the Pro Flo XT, and am getting horrible heat soak issues. I decided that I would order 1/16" Phenolic board so that I could machine down the intake flange to keep the head directly off of the intake. I really didnt want to do this because I wasnt sure about machining the intake, and I would have to use an epoxy to hold the phenolic in place inside of the gasket. Well I had another idea today of getting the flange ceramic coated. The ceramic is much thinner, and I think I could do it without even machining it. I called Swain Technologies, and the guy said they wouldnt even do it for me because it wouldnt seal properly. He wasnt very open minded at all, and I dont think he understood how it uses a gasket to seal instead of the flange. Well I still think that is the best route to take, and think I will need to show them the intake in person before they understand how it seals. Does anyone have any other suggestions how to keep the heat away? Has anyone used phenolic board like this? Maybe I will check a tempt tonight, but it gets so hot you cant hold your hand on it. Basically after it sits between runs for a bit, it is as hot as the engine block.
