Need help choosing cam for lq4 swap
#12
Your build is almost identical to mine, 92 silverado 6.0/4l80e from a 2001 2500 Suburban. It was also my first LS build that I tried to keep budget friendly, between the body and swap running and driving with only headers and a CAI i had about 5k into it. I love the truck but the time has come to start making more power so I'm also looking for cam options. I've been looking for 243 or 799s but keep hearing about milling the 317s and saving a few dollars. I picked up a nnbs intake and injectors with a 90mm TB so I'd like to cam it around the same time to save on the tune. Not sure about you but my truck is a weekend warrior doesn't see much Monday through Saturday action so I'm not against a big cam and stall but those are both things to consider on yours. Where ever you decide to get your cam from talk to a rep and get there opinion with your setup. Good luck hope it all works out for you!

I had the btr stage 2 in my 6.0 with 4l60e stock stall and it was amazing. Stepped up to a similar as the stage 3 and noticed very minimal low end drop. I think the 4l80e has a converter that flashed to like 2200 if I'm correct? But the btr stage 2 is heard to beat. Power everywhere with it

I wanted more to end, it gained only 8rwhp and 19 torque but gains where everywhere in the curve. I will change cams again later on maybe in a year. I like experimenting so I can give my friends the best advice on what works. I guess you can say I'm the Guinea pig lol I want to try the streetsweeper 220/224 and lastly the tick SNS stage 1 for LS2 which I have in my GTO.
I really didn't notice much of a low end loss, it still takes off like before but I can really feel it come in hard at 3k
