If you want to make real big power building a 408 is you best bet! A simple 408 build should make you 450-500 at the wheels. I am stroking my 6.0 this winter. Hoping to start in about a month! Stock the 6.0 will make you some good power but if you want to really build an engine then you need to stroke it!

Its a 01 ext cab silverado 1500
stock converter-plan on a circle d or yank 3200
gears-3.43 plan on 4.11 or 3.73
tires- 275/45-20 khumo exsta-want to get a set or drag radials for the 20's and a slick on my 16's
current mods-blackbear live tune, magnaflow single in dual out, k&n air filter, ls1 fans
future mods- built tranny, yank or circle d 3000-3200 stall, big tranny cooler, detroit tru trac and gears, and of course a built 6.0 and eventually a little wet shot
goals-would be awsome to see high 12's or low 13's
uses- daily driver or weekend toy if i get somethin else to drive

also after i sell my blazer ill have about 5-6 grand to build this motor and for supporting the power mods..... so kinda budget

Don't get screwed like I did and buy a 99-00 6.0 block with the longer crank flange! Then you will have to have Yank build you a $$$ converter and run a '00 2500 HD flex plate like I'm doing.

So I need a 01 up motor. And the 408 sounds good. Texas speed has a rotating assembly fairly cheap...that's probly my best option huh?
