Default N/A 408 power?

Just wondering if any of you guys running N/A 408s have any power numbers you'd share. Im seriously starting to think about building a 408 and running a shot of nitrous instead of my turbo 370. Just wondering what kind of power i can make on motor.

There are plenty of dyno results for N/A 408s on LS1tech...it mostly depends on how far you want to go! With a 150 wet shot there are guys with close to 700rwhp, albeit in cars.

I wouldnt say 550rwhp is easy, it takes CAREFUL planning and a damn good intake and heads with a large cam to do. We will see in the coming months how the L92s react. Most decent 408s are in the 500-520 range after that the power is hard to come by. When looking at dynos on tech look to see if its a manual or auto and what rear end and what dyno they are on, all those play a huge factor. I wouldnt worry too much about dyno numbers as they are only a little nudge of the correction factor away from being bling numbers. Might want to talk to Rhino or Wood Hauler he has a stout setup.

My 402 will be tuned March the 2nd at Nelson's so I'll let everyone know how it does. I doubt there's much power difference between 408 and 402.

I am planning on running a 150 or 200 wet shot on top of it. As long as i can get 400-450rwhp with 317 heads and a decent sized cam i'll be happy. The nitrous will just be for the track and for "insurance" on the street.

Have you considered gas mileage difference between the two?

550rwhp N/A is not easily attainable with a 408, there aren't many doing that.

Most seem to end up in the 500-520rwhp range.
