Sounds like a tuning problem to me aswell, that cam is not that big for those cubes.
Find yourself a new tuner

I'm going to agree with everyone else and say your tune sucks.

However, if you really want to go with a different cam, I would have one spec'd to your application.

It really sounds like your tuners suck. With that in mind, going smaller will most likely not solve your problem because if you take it to the same tuners they most likely won't be able to get the new cam to idle either. Like several other have said, FIND YOURSELF A BETTER TUNER, not a new cam.

Thanks for all the inputs. The only tuners left are more than 2 hours drive away and that just seems a bit much.

Maybe after tax return comes in I can afford to sink another $300 in this thing and try to get it right.

That cam is definitely not to big for the cubes. I run a 231/239 in a 408. It's a daily driver and it idles great at 800rpm. It definitely takes some fine tuning but is well worth it.

It not just the idle speed that needs to be tuned. Make sure the tuner looks at the idle airflow in both P/N and D. Also the idle timing need to be pretty spot on. I run a rather big cam in my 6.0L and I am currently DDing my truck.

THanks. Your LSA is only 114 though and that is a smooth idle. Mine is 111 and that is very chaoppy.

I understand what you are saying though and will get this to a different tuner soon.
