I thought the rods were the weakest part of the stock rotating assembly?

The late model LQx/LS2 rods are pretty strong, not saying the don't or won't break but I've never seen one personally. We all know these things eat pistons like tic-tacs if you lean on it a little too hard... Problem is, a lot of aftermarket pistons require 6.125 rods so you're upgrading them either way... I wouldn't think twice about using the stock crank... Very strong piece.

Gotcha, I must of been thinking about the Mustang rods. I think those are made of glass IIRC. Ditto on the crank, had mine up to just shy of 1000hp and it's still churrning lots of butter for me.

You can swap an 80e in very easily in your rig though

Did you locate 6.0 forged pistons for your upgrade??? I am looking to do the same thing but am having trouble finding a forged piston in a stock bore with stock rods! Everything seems to be stroked...anyone got ideas or better yet, part numbers.
