01 thunder did his times with street tires if that helps you any, Dyno is a tuning tool and only should be used in that matter!!!

still talking NA, power comes easy with boost (or nitrous ) *edit*

and yes i realize dynos are tuning tools, but tuning is more for insurance than it is for making power. we tune our vehicles not only to get the most power for our mods, but more or less to get the most power in the most efficient and reliable manner

These are some crazy 4.8s running around here . . .

I would like to know more details on the mods. I would like to build one for a 2300lbs project of mine . . . hehe! Anybody wanna contribute?

Sorry for the hi-jack. . .

I have seen lots of guys with 4.8L's put down bigger Dyno numbers than I ever did with the...... (takes a second to remember the fond memories of the truck he once had called Thunder, then snaps too, and remembers he drives a Z28 now....) truck, but i have only seen 1 or 2 guys even get close to what I did at the track.... (N/A 8ALTNG )
On a good dyno I could have gotten close to 330 at the wheels.. but the BIG stall, and A4 was killing the numbers...
I never based what the truck could do off of those numbers..
it's what it does at the track that counts...
and then if you can back it up on the streets...

The old truck could hole shot ("most") anything off the line..
It cut a 1.88 on street tires, and those tires where GT eagle II's to boot..
nobody has ever been able to do that either. expectially with those tires...
but it's like I have said before.. it's all in how you set it up at the track....

Good luck to you guys...
I tried for 12's N/A, and almost got it.. I probably would have if I would have kept the truck, and ran it this winter.....

That's true. You can't really compare dyno numbers to one another exactly. Too many variables, it's really just a general idea of the power it's making.
