the 6.0 has more torque and thats what our trucks need. a NA 4.8 CANNOT match or better the performance of a camm'd/boltons 6.0

Well no ****, but guess what chief. If it's 90* at the track, it's probably going to be 90* on the street.

Again no ****. Nobody is going to run a better time on the street than at the track.

You don't? How is that? Or would you rather spend $3000 doing full bolt ons and a tune on your 4.8L and spend $3000 when you can swap in a perfectly good 6.0 for about $1500(negating the cost of transmissions).

Having a dyno number isn't going to mean your truck is fast, it's not going to win a race, nor is it going to get you laid.

It's nice saying your truck has 3xx horsepower, but that doesn't really mean anything. You can take TXSilverado for instance who dynoed at I believe 277 rwhp and then proceeds to throw down a low 13 at the track. That track number seems to hold up pretty well to some of his street racing kills too.

what i meant by the heat was that i could race in cooler weather and run a better time that i would run at the local track due to the heat in sac.. not speaking for 01 thunder cause i have no idea where he is running or what the track conditions were...

and back to the swap, me being from california i cant legally do a 6.0 swap because it was never offered in a RCSB truck, granted i cant smog my truck as is either, but all it will take is to throw my stock exhaust back on.

and sure having power means the truck is fast (relatively speaking) but the driver has to be able to do it justice. thats like saying the the best driver in the world could make a truck with no power fast

That's a pretty nice number. I once thought as you do. I would be willing to bet that the little 4.8 in your truck could make upper 300s with a little bigger cam, an LS6 intake and bigger TB. Of course after all the money and labor it will take, you could have had a 6.0L like everyone says. FYI, you don't have to change your computer to do the swap so you're cool in Cali if you keep on the down low. But regardless I'm rooting for you!

As far as the engine goes, they arent going to look and see if you have a 6.0, It woul take them alot of time to check the block and see if it still says 4.8 on the block....
