Default Mild 6.2 l9h stock converter cam choice

I have a friend who has a complete vvt cam swap kit as listed below, would this be friendly with my 6.2 with kooks headers? Would I be close to running out of fuel??

Custom spec'd Cam Motion grind 6.2l vvt cam, valvesprings, and modified cam phaser gear.

Cam is a 218/228 600 lift 115lsa

Comes with PAC 1919x nitrided beehive valvesprings and uses stock retainers and valve keepers.
Comes with a modified cam phaser gear to mechanically limit the amount of vvt movement of the cam.

That should run well. Maybe a hair more aggressive in terms of overlap than I would have gone with the stock converter, but it will be OK as long as your tuner is good.

If the vehicle is flex fuel you will have enough injector and pump for sure. Factory flex fuel injectors are 50-52lb/hr and the pump will do like 550hp.

The truck is flex fuel and I am invested in Blackbear tuning previously so I might as well have him retune it.

same specs as the cam i put in from TSP (but 113 grind), and also used pac 1219x springs.
Runs pretty good, I started with black bear but he wasnt so much interested in advancing the cam and throwing more timing at it, kinda fell on its face about 5200rpm.
2012 yukon denali 6.2 6l80 awd, 3.42, 3k stall, long tubes.... with the max tow you probably have 3.73s? picked up about .4 in the 1/4 mile with dyno tune on 93. havent finished tuning for e85> going to grab sensor and install rather than rely on virtual calc

Quite a few tuners wont take the time to adjust the timing and cam timing for vvt engines esp mail order tuners. You would be better off deleting vvt and going straight cam. Thats very close to our high lift hot cam save for lsa. Ours has more overlap which brings up the bottom end and helps the top end also. Plus you dont have to buy and install cam phaser limiter.

Default Vvt

VVT cams need to be tuned on a dyno, you can
get it dialed right in that way. I watched my tuner
dial mine in. very cool.

You cannot just dial them in on the dyno but also have to. They also need to be dialed in on the street. Thats the area most wont touch on.

Maybe I should do a writeup on how to calibrate for a VVT cam. Show you what all of your tooners aren't doing lol. It is a lot more involved than meets the eye. If you've been told that it can be banged out on the dyno or street in a couple hours, you've been lied to.
