May have run into a problem during cam install
I just got my tsp 220r cam, pac springs, and hardened rods delivered and figured I start on the install on my 2012 2500hd 6.0. Keep in mind this is my first cam install so sorry in advance for any dumb questions. I called three different dealerships to see if my truck has dod or vvt. All three said no on both after looking up my vin. Well, I get down to the step of removing the water pump only to find what appears to me as a vvt timing cover. Can anyone confirm this before I go any further? And if it is in fact vvt, whats my next best course of action? I've seen comp cams makes something to modify the vvt cam gear but I figure I'd get some advice before I go spending more money.

Yes you have vvt, 2 options, get vvt and the phase limiter from comp or go without vvt and get a cam designed for ls3 style heads.... Check your casting numbers on the heads im sure you have 823 or 0821 casting, which are rectangular port heads.... And a cam designed for cathedral port heads will leave you scratching your head and disappointed...

Well after talking with texas speed, I went with the 220r 112 lsa instead of the 224r 112lsa because I could keep the stock converter for now (according to them anyway). I was trying to go for somewhat of a budget swap but it never seems to work out that way.
