max bore

just wondering what the max bore you can go with on a 4.8 i have a buddy who is wanting to build one for a s10 (drag strip only) he has 3 4.8s laying in his shop hr wants to bore it to a 6.0 i know you can go 5.7 but dont think 6.0 any info please

stock 6.0 bore (4.000") is a no go with the 4.8/5.3 block

4.8/5.3 can't go 4.000" bore. 3.900" is max I believe. 347 ci (5.7L) is the biggest you can get.

yea thats what i thought but wasnt positive i told him it would be easier to just buy a 6.0

so would 3.905" with a 4" crank (383) be possible?

yes, a 383 is just a ls1 .030 overbore with a 4" stroker crank, i think its technically a 382 but ya know

I'm pretty sure you can't put a 4" crank in a 5.3 block...you wil not have enough clearance.
