ls6 cam on a 5.3???

FWIW Gm uses 7.4 pushrods on the 234 heads with longer valves. I personally would run a longer pushrod if I'm not running the LS6 length valves but 7.4 if Using the long valve. I can see GM keeping things simple with 1 PR length and I do believe that they tested the LS6 extensively before releasing it for production.

I was also wondering what gains 02+ ls6 cam offers as one of my buddies is looking for a sleeper cam for his 5.3

Thats kool... Ive done plenty of searching and not many have listed any actual number gains. only thing i have heard is something like 20hp above 4k or so... and a slight decrease in low end compared to stock cam...

I can agree with that...that's about what my results were with a similar cam.

Oh I forgot to mention, i'll be stepping down from a 224/224 on 112 comp cam. I'm doing the swap in preparation for a turbo setup. I'll let you know on the power loss.

I would imagine a decent loss from the 224 cam. Did you ever dyno with the 224?

from what i have searched yes. 01 ls6 cam is a 204/211-.525 lift with i wanna say a 116lsa and 02+ ls6 cam is 204/218 with like .550 lift and 117.5 lsa.. my numbers maybe off just a bit as im just pulling them from what i remeber.
