A few people had issues with the old 918's. I have no specific information as to how much they were pushing them or for how long but yes they HAD issues. Comp has since recalled all those springs and replaced them free of charge and as far as I know payed for the damages the faulty springs had caused.
I have nothing but good to say of the customer service they gave me and quite a few other members on this board. The New revised springs are just fine. I wish people would use words a little more carefully.

Yes they are fine from what I have heard. And that was what we originally were going to go with untill we found out they were on back order until Mid March most likely do to them replacing the bad batch that got out. So we spent a little bit more money and got the patriots.

The Comp Cam's 918's are a great spring. I am currently running them in my 5.3L and had no issues with 2 different camshafts. This included a 222/224
.563/.568 and currently a LPE 205/212 .538/.538 116.5 LSA (great mild cam for Radix on stock 5.3L). Going strong!

However, this isn't a thread about SPRINGS!!!!!!!!

Looking for LQ9 cam opinions from those who had great success/reliability/ease of tuning, ETC. Please keep the posts in that subject.

I know this is a very small cam for a LQ9.I have a Comp 208/212 with .554 lift w/LS6 springs on 114 in a Avalanche with the LQ9 motor.Stock converter and 3.73.Works pretty good.It even has a nice rumble to it.But I would like to go with a 2500 converter and 4.10's for better off the line performance.I also run 33" tires.
I went with this one because of everyday use, mild towing, good fuel mileage.

I chose the trick flow stage 2 cam. 220/224 ~.570" on a 112 lsa installed on 108. LQ4 withvery aggressive tune. Comp cam 918's new style with my recall exchange. Comp is a great company that puts customers first.

Nothin fancy here. I just have towait on my brother (turbogibbs) to make his trip to the beach here with his HPtuners. I don't want that cam to go in without a tune.
