My buddy has been watching for a good deal on a 6.0. The other day on Ebay Lingenfelter surplus test motor came up on the block. The description said that it was a early cast iron headed complete lq4 that was used as a Dyno test motor when the LS series was brand new. They had no information on it other then it was a 6.0. No hours of use or anything. Well after debating over night he bought it. It was buy now priced at $385. It showed up at the shop today and it is brand new never ran! No carbon in the exhaust manifolds, every piece is there all sensors, coils, everything! Plans are to pull it apart and replace all hardware with ARP. He already has a set of L92's for it and will buy a Super Victor intake and place a 1050 Dom on it. It's plans are to go into his '85 Camaro race car in place it's 406. But the car is currently at a body shop getting media blasted (the car is a long way off). It may have a short residence in my truck to smoke a local hothead, but I hope not. Because I'm sure if that happens I will be instantly addicted! And have to blow the bank on my own.

Yeah it's gonna be gone over with a fine tooth comb (balance the crank, rods, pistons). I'm pretty excited to see what we can get done with this combo and some spray(Holley Bigshot plate). It's gonna go infront of a built TH400 with 5000 stall, in a 3100 lbs car with 4.56 out back. Probably low nine's in spray. But like I said the car is a long time out. I'm sure will be drooling over the motor for months waiting on the car.
