Default ? On lifters

So I have an 05 6.0 lq4... My question is did these come with the upgraded ls7 lifters or are they the Ls2. Mine have the closed face like the Ls7 but I'm not entirely sure all LS2 lifters had the same style. Also regardless if their Ls7 or not they have 70k miles but look to be in good condition, should I just replace them and call it a day?

I would replace them. You can get a new of LS7 lifters for 140 bucks, IMO thats not much to have a new set of lifters in there.

Youd have 125 in lifters 40 in trays 40 in head gaskets 50 *GM bolts*-110 *ARP bolts* in head bolts (depending which way you go), new crank bolt, labor if you have to pay someone to do the work.

Sdparts.com is the cheapest place ive found LS7 lifters/trays

I Am sure I could get away with what I have, but it's correct to say $120 is cheap insurance. My only other question is regarding to GM using LS7 lifters. Did they have an approximate year they started using them instead of the ls2's in the 6.0l LQ4? Because I know visually they are almost identical.

In 04 they started using ls2 parts, however some engines may have been assembled at a later date using the old style lifters.

LS7 lifters can fit into the stock trays if you really want to nickle and dime. Trays are cheap though. I still think its cheap insurance to not have to go in there and do it later.

I said heck with it and decided to just buy new lifters, it scares me to think I might have tear it back down again! The stock trays will or will not hold the LS7 lifters, anyone know? Because I already ordered the stock replacement. DOH! Seriously though they are the same everything except lifter cup, so they should fit stock trays right?
