well i started hearing a ticking noise coming from the right side of my engine an pulled the valve cover off today, i think its my rockers being loose cuz i can move them side to side roughly 16th inch, they have 274,000 miles on them. could this be my problem? i didnt have a chance to check the other side but theres no noise on the left side. need some help quick because im going on a 850 mile trip this weekend. mods r in the sig, thanks

 

Did you install new lifters with the cam?

 

nope only springs an pushrods, got about 6,000 miles on them an the cam

 

Are you sure the spring isnt broken? Make sure the rocker bolt is still torqued...

 

Side to side is actually normal. It's up and down you need to worry about. Up and down is were the Pre-load on the lifter is.

 

ok ill the rockers torque is good an the springs are still good to so thanks
