Lifter Carnage
Not sure what the cause was, but here is the aftermath.
Cam was a 238/255 .624/.624 on a 114+4 using Comp's LSR lobes.
Lunati dual springs and LS7 lifters.
My 408 with broken lifter - YouTube

LS7 = OEM
Aftermarket build = Morel or Lunati
nuff said, went to a well known builder when i built my first 410 they wanted to use LS7 lifters when all other parts were top of the line, go figure i went somewhere else, ended up using morel
specially when turning over 7K rpms when using aggressive other parts

I hate to say welcome to the club, I have the same picture. I originally thought it was just my luck and had a lifter fail. Once I got the whole motor apart I found the double roller time chain was cutting into the Melling Hi-Volume oil pump. I can only assume the filings from the pump caused the lifter to fail. Fortunately the builder took responsibility for the mismatched parts and covered the majority of the rebuild.
That happened 11 months ago and my truck is finally ready to start again this week.
