Plunger assembly on mine was the problem. You could take a push rod, and by hand push down on the lifter without much effort. Tried on one of my original truck lifters, never budged.

They prob bleed down the bounce and crack wheels.

I heard that the ls7 lifters like a lot more preload than the norm. ~.080" ~.090". I have them as well with out any issues.

What diameter pushrods are you using? Valve train harmonics are usually what kills these lifters. My valve train guy has more LS engines running 8500+ RPM on stock lifters then you can shake a stick at...

did you set your's up with preload and if you did what amount?

what overall pushrod length are you running.
