Lift question
#1
What exactly does higher or lower lift on a cam do? For example what would be the difference on a 224/224 .563/.563 112 versus a 224/224 .588/.588 112? Can some explain the difference that lift makes in terms of how much HP or Torque a cam makes?

The higher the lift, the higher the valves will riase off the seat...basically higher lift = valves open further. With more lift, you can get more air/fuel in, and exhaust out. If you have the proper tune, cubes and mods to support it, more lift=more power
. On a negative note, more lift also equals less valve spring life
