Default knock sensor replacement

Hey guys,

I am replacing the knock sensors on my 2001 4.8L Silverado. I got the intake off (after a good bit of trouble). However, now I am at the part where I have to take the old sensors out. HOW THE HELL DO I GET THE PLASTIC WIRING CONNECTOR OFF THE TOP??? And, how do I then remove the old sensors? Thank you so much. Any help would be much appreciated.

Pry out the rubber boots and then use 2 flat head screw drivers or a pair of long needle nose plyers to get the plugs off the sensors (its a squeeze style plug). From there, the knock sensors screw out (use a 7/8 socket).

TB is exactly right. Squeeze the plastic ring ( very, very hard ) and as it bows out on 2 sides it will come off the sensor.
Try not to bang the new sensors around as they are sensitive to excessive vibration and could be damaged.
