Default intake reinstallment

Hey guys,

I just finished putting my new knock sensors in my truck. However, when I was tightening the intake back down on the block, the front left bolt broke. (remember, these are the ones that don't just come out the top....the sort of lock in the port.) At any rate, I didn't take it back off, but I'm guessing that part of the threaded part is now stuck, tightly, down into the block. The rest of the 9 bolts are good to go however. Is that front one going to mess up the seal? Or should I be alright?

Also, when I put the injectors back down into their ports, I noticed I could still see part of the upper part of the aluminum between the injector and the wiring harness. Is that normal? Are they supposed to somehow plug all the way in there?

Thanks for your help!

-Alex

The hayne's manual says that the bolt is the 10th, or last one, to be tightened down. If that helps....

as touchy as these intake gaskets are, I would fix it. replace the bolt and get any of it that broke off in the head out. if nothing else, fix it b/c you know its broke.

Fixing would be my first choice.
What were your torque setting? Due to the o-ring seal design and phrenolic intake material the torque spec is only like 108 INCH pounds ( not ft/lbs ). You can get that nearly by hand....

I was about to pull out the drill after breaking one of these bolts in the head. Then I discovered that the bolt spun out easily with a screwdriver pressed against it. Seems that it was pretty loose in the hole once the torque was removed from it. Might be more difficult to remove if it sits there for a while.

I'm not gonna have the time to do it for about a week. With the other bolts, should the seal be good enough? Or do I need to MAKE time?

A week should be good for the bolt as long as its running OK, you have good vacuum, and you don't see any knock or misfire codes, etc.
