intake question

Default intake question

would i be alright to put a ls6 or ls1 car intake on my truck? i now i will lose bottom end but with the 3800 stall it dont matter. and what all is needed to install this intake on my truck??

there's kano's write up. you will not lose much bottom and will prepare yourself to decently gain up top depending on where you are shifting at. i wouldnt do it unless you plan on revving to the upper half of 6000 rpms or something. the install write up above is for fly by wire throttle body and is much simpler if you have cable driven but i dont think you do with your 2003

talked with brian at TEA for an hour the other day about some heads, and the subject of intakes came up. his suggestion. FAST 90 and the LS-2 TB. not gonna lose a damn thing. don't need the vacuum reference like carb motors do. all we need is air and lots of it.

the fast intake IMO is way to over priced and not much different than the LS1/6 intake... its about twice as much as an ebayed LS6 intake

agree with the overpriced. i am on the look for an intake of some sort, LS6 or used FAST 78, for the next mod.

i run the ls6 intake on my truck, i also have a 3800 stall. as for back to back comparisons i dunno i did an entired swap/setup and all i can say is the truck is strong

that post makes the truck intake appear to flow better all around but i thought on the high end due to the plenum volume the ls1 still flowed better??

get an LS2 intake with a 90 mm T/B the intake is for 245$ LS2 intake manifold = 89017648 or 12589181 and the LS2 90MM T/B is for 231$ part#12570790
