if you do decide to stay NA. here's what I would do:

find a L33 in a junkyard for 1000
rod bolts
have the heads p/p milled
and of course a big cam.

The LS4 and L33 use the same cylinder heads and the same pistons. If I were going to build an engine to do what you're doing, I'd get an L33 and use LM7 cylinder heads with bigger intake valves installed and ported. That will bring your compression up. The stock lower end is just fine, just change the rod bolts. All of that with the right cam and a better intake manifold is about the best you can ask for without spending more than it's worth to get your goal.

thanks Zippy, i think i may go boosted cause thats like crack. but i have to call some suppliers. i have to call and talk to richard and then trick and then i have to find someone to build the 5.7

i think i may slap a turbo on my 5.3 and start the new motor fund and when its full i'll turn up the wick and see what she'll do.

I'm a bit confused here. Why put another stock crank in? Just change your pistons to either some forged flat tops (or stocker GM flats) and possibly go to some high spin rods.

Apologies if I've missed the point
