i am trying to find an L59/LM7/L33 Shortblock right now that i can tear down and have balanced and blueprinted and then slap a set of WCCH edelbrock heads with a custom cam and an SSR inatake on. but i may just leave the bottom end alone and throw some rod bolts in and start saving for when it blows the hell up.

Sounds like an awful lot of work. Theres no replacement for displacement but thats just my theory. To each his own, I guess it will be one of a kind truck though. Good luck

i think if i were going 5.3 NA, id get a stock shortblock and add : rod bolts, milled wcch/edelbrock 4.8/5.3 heads, cam of choice, and ls6 intake and FULL boltons and then go from there

Thats what i am gonna do but one of the best ways to unlock horses is to balance and blueprint a motor

you do know that a blueprint of the motor is just a piece of paper that lists the tolerances of that specific motor, right? and i dont think you will find that much power in balancing it

Blueprinting a motor also involves the clearancing of anything to polish and reduce the overall friction within the motor

You can have pistons made for just about any type of engine imaginable. It usually takes about 4-6 weeks to have them made.

I think it is stupid to spend all this money to beat a record on an internet forum. Do you think the camaro that waxes your *** cares whether or not you have the fastest N/A 5.3 record on performancetrucks.net? No. For you money you are going to spend you could have alot faster truck going another route. Turbo power is always there too just like N/A power but with better streetability, better gas mileage for the same power level and probably capable of more power. Just my .02, take it for what its worth.

I thought I posted about this already but...
The L33 DOES have flat top pistons but they also have LS6 heads with the larger combustion chamber, keeping CR to 9.9 to 1.

yeah i guess i need to think about what direction i want to go with my truck, she's a big bitch and lord knows shes never gonna be amazingly fast but i just want to see 12's thats it. so i guess i could get a trick turbo system and a good set of heads and a turbo cam from richard and maybe throw a small shot of nitrous on top of it but i just want the damn thing to be different cause everybody goes straight to FI especially on the small bore motors, i think there is alot being left on the table with the 5.3L that no one has had the gumption to tap into yet. i mean the 408 has become a regular thing but someone trying to run 12's in a beefy *** 5.3L is different i guess. i don't know i have to think about the direction i want to go.

on a side note is a 3200 a good turbo stall???
