im wondering if the rag maybe got beat around by the crank and bent the pickup tube? so maybe its getting stuck on the oil pan baffle

well then his best bet is to just pull the motor.
i know it is something you do not want to hear.
but if damage is done, you really need to see just
what kind of damage has been done.
the oil pump may not be the only thing that needs to be replaced.

I AM LIKE WAY LOST ON THIS ONE.... THE PAN SHOULD HAVE SOME OFF WAY EASIER...

IF YOU HAVE A HOIST MAYBE YOU CAN LIFT THE ENGINE SOME AND SEE IF YOU CAN PERSUADE IT TO COME OFF THEN.... I JUST HOPE ONCE ITS ALL DONE YOUR BEARINGS SURVIVED THE ORDEAL..... ONE GOOD THING FOR YOU IS YOU WERE USING SYNTHETIC...
