im new to the whole ls scene, and i was wondering what all i can do to my truck, its got a 4.8 in i know its an ls based motor, i was just wondering about heads, cam, intake that type of stuff what can i use ya know?? any help would be appreciated

i have done most of those types of mods. except for the electric fans and LSD. i recommend getting some long tube headers, catless mid pipes, a nice muffler, a custom intake, new spark plugs, underdrive and alternator pulley, electric fans, and a nice dyno tune. you will see a substantial increase in horsepower and torque. probably somewhere in the 30-50 hp increase to the wheels depending on how agressive the tune is. then look at either forced induction or nitrous if you want even more, and maybe one day a motor swap. good luck

 

i have got equal legnth long tube headers, catless y pipe, 3 in exhaust to somekind of muffler not sure wat it is, msd wires, aem brute force intake... i honestly think ther might be some kind of tune on it, but i have no idea

 

im wondering about cam and heads and intake, then forced induction after that

 

tr220 with a wheatley tune and u will be happy

 

a small cam and good tune will help out alot

 

back to basics - have you done all the free mods. all together they are worth a bit and help out further mods

 

What spark plugs are good? Ive heard that with GMC/Chevy the stock plugs work better than anything else since the motor was tuned to it..?? Is this true?

 

i didnt like the stock type plugs when i first got my truck. i went to the tr55 plugs and some msd wires. i felt a little better throttle response but that was it. i did get about 2 miles per gallon better tho.
but, if you go cam and heads first, be sure to get a setup that will work well with forced induction if thats what you want to do afterward. then get a dyno tune to maximize your performance and you should see great numbers. keep us updated on your add ons and performance
