Spoke with a local guy today who has done some 408 and 370's around here that have held up well and he quoted me $990 for the labor, assembly, machine work and bearings. I would provide rods and pistons. Sound good??

Ur gonna wanna get the max out of it and that takes Dyno time. The biggest expense afetr my motor will be the proper machining and dyno testing. Will the block need boring and honing? will it need decking? balancing? in my opinion that part is more art than tools. Personally, I'm gonna have them put at least 200-300 miles on it before giving it back - all broken in and tuned up. That'll cost more, but its time I just don't have unfortunately.
