Sorry for the slow reply. It's been an extremely busy day here.
IMO the best bang for the buck is a Stage 1 (bowl) port and valve job for larger 2.02"/1.57" valves. I did exactly this on the wife's '01 6.0l and she tows a horse trailer very frequently. We only milled the heads .010" so we can run 89 octane except when towing. Be careful about raising compression in tow vehicles! They have a tendency to ping because of the high load and elevated combustion temps that build on a long haul. Our truck will ping every so often when towing even with 91 octane in the tank and on really hot days I'll hear an intermittent ping with the AC on and no trailer in tow.
We have a package for this that runs $690.00 per pair. Valve springs are additional depending on single or dual setups. It usually takes us a week to turn around a set of heads.

Let me know if you have any questions and I'll be heappy to help.

Richard

If i sent you my heads would i need to replace my valve springs and retainers? Right now they have less than 2000miles on both. I got the truck cammed it replaced the springs with some 918's and TI retainers.Other than that the heads are stock. So could i leave those two items alone are will i need to replace them as well?
I'm wanting to mill them to get a CR=to the LQ9.So basically a 10.1 CR is about all i want.
I always run 93octane and i never tow a trailer or anything like that.Tow in my truck is loading the bed down about 500lbs. Thats it.Maybe two passengers so total added weight over the truck itself with bed filled and passengers MIGHT reach 1100lbs at it's highest ever.
Let me know what you think and i guess i would just need to set it up and send you my heads?Or do you work the heads and then i send you in mine for the core charge deal i seen on your sight?
Not sure how that all works guess it kinda depends if i can reuse anything like i asked earlier.
Thanks for your time man and don't worry i can't normall check the board till 8pm anyway for responses.
Joe

Cody's on to me!!! Now I'll never get any breakfast!! J/K. BTW you've got parts headed your way and more to follow tomorrow.

Joe, feel free to call me early in the am and I'll be happy to discuss your setup with you. At the moment I don't have any sets of 6.0l head cores as they're out on loan. I'll see if I can hustle some up or I can rework you heads in about a weeks time. No problem reusing your springs and retainers as long as they meet our pressure requirements.

TTL.

The pleasure is all mine guys. I really enjoy chatting with eveyone who calls especially those from this forum.

I look forward to working with everyone here. As we know, cylinder heads are an important and expensive decision. I want to help present all the available options to help each person make an informed decision when they decide to upgrade their heads. We're a small shop, but we try are best to provide the best products and service possible. I appreciate all the nice comments.

Thanks much.

Richard
