4.10 gears, that was a spin fest on the 13.7. Had liek a 2.6 60'.

I ran a 11.4 in the 1000ft on that pass. I have since at the local 1000ft track with slicks got it down to 10.0. So I have deff improved that 13.7 time just havnt got back to a 1/4 track.

Thats all i want really.
Compression is power the only reason I wouldnt go 11:1 is if you arent running 93 or if you tow, it'll be the same price to mill however much you take off. Personnaly Id take .030 off drop down to a .040 or smaller gasket and do a valve job, if you have to wait a bit and save for the valve job I would it is well worth the money on these heads. Id find a good machine shop that is used to doing performance apps tell em to mill, valve job and give em the springs retainer locks and tell em to set em up for whatever cam your running should cost around 300-400 and thats money well spent.
I think the stock valves are fine for our power range its not worth paying to recut seats and unshroud(I did that with ferrea valves).

I don't want 11.1 because it's just higher than what i like.I do run 93 octane but i tow everyday of the week.Weekends are my fun time.
10.1 will be just fine IMO.

richard @wcch told me when I was talking to him about this that these heads will net you more HP with a razor sharp valve job than with a mild port and polish.... So I am doing both

I just poseted that question a few days ago, down the colum, and this what I found out: Every .006" you mill will subtract 1 cc from your chamber, so .030" would be 5 cc's milled off which would put an lq4 head at about 67-68 cc's. Using the calculator I found, milling .030" and using a .040" thinck gasket would give you your desired 10.5:1. Just do a google search for compression ratio calculator and enter in you combo. I,m doing .042-.045 off and stock head gaskets ( .054 thick) and will end up around 10.5. A good ratio to be at, I tow also. Stock gaskets are cheaper too!

Richard could do a stage I job on your heads for the price range you are looking at which Im sure he could mill them too all for about the price range you are looking at. I will tell you this much, I have dealt with Richard alot with some fastners, my vic jr setup and fuel setup, he is a great guy and will bend over backwards to help you out even though he is CRAZY busy. The man gets to the shop at 530am and I have gotten him as late 615pm. I think you would be really happy with the results you get. Tdrumm got like 22hp out of a stage I job on some 5.3 heads on his 5.3 and I dont think he milled them. Imagine what you would gain with them on a bigger motor with a bigger cam and higher CR?

Here is a break down of some of the stuff he does for his stage II heads which are sweet and you can see what you could cut out of that.

If Richard doesnt post up tonight Ill remind him tomorrow when I talk to him
