Heads for boost
#12
It's an NA cam, but yes you have a cam. I meant a boost specific cam. Specifically a turbo boost cam
either way, I don't see the gain in swapping heads. What's the reasoning behind it anyway? What does the 241 offer that the 243s don't?

Well that’s the reason for my post. Not really looking for ideas so to say and more like physical proof and numbers of people that have done this or seen or helped do this similar setup. Like people that run 317 heads on a 5.3 and do not like it and have done it and proven it’s not a good combo. Personal preference is personal preference. You like one color I may not. I’m just trying to get more boost out of my setup without detonation. If it’s not worth it to swap heads then we’ll I may not do it. But if I have a cheap set of heads or free heads why not and up the boost? Just want to people who have experience and numbers that can provide evidence if it’s a good combo or not. I know 317 are too big for my street truck but if I can go down a point in compression and bring it back to life with gears and stall, flat tops, gaskets whatever make the good combo for my liking. I get your point the loss doesn’t make up for the gains. True. But I feel like room to grow with that setup, cheap heads, but I don’t have race gas or meth

I think regardless of the head you're going to be fuel limited. The current consensus I see with tuners is "less boost, more timing" vs less timing to run more boost
give it a couple years and that might shift again. It's also what makes E85 so popular. You can more timing with more boost and it's just all around sexy
