Default Going for big boost on a forged 5.3

My pistons should be here friday from wiseco, but i still need to get some head gaskets... The guy from race engineering where i bought the pistons from told me that my compression will be 10.4 to 1 with the pistons and the 61cc chamber in my stock heads with a stock gasket....

Dont know too much about compression ratios, but i do know too high with forced induction is not good....

I wana get around 15lbs of boost which is prolly max for the blower can i leave the compression ratio where it is at 10.4 to 1 or does anyone make a aftermarket thicker head gasket to drop the compression ratio?????

Also would you guys recommend using arp head bolts too?

A set of 317 heads would drop the compression a good amount.

Running that much boost I would get a set of 317s like mentioned above.

I'd do the LS6 243's. Blowers like a bit more compression

Look up Cometic and see what they can do for the thicker gaskets.

ARP head studs would be a must as well for reliabilitys sake.
As far as the heads are concerned, 317s will cause valve shrouding on that small of a bore. I'd personally do some 243s... Shoot for a compression ratio for a hair under 10:1

Could Wiseco put bigger valve reliefs or a dish in them maybe to drop some compression??

243's have less combustion chamber volume, but do they unshroud the valves any?

They come stock on 5.3's so I'd say yes... The 317s aren't terrible, but they'd need to be massaged to fit properly as their made for a 4" bore ideally.

I run them on the 3.906 bore of my 347 but they've been worked over by WCCH specifically for this setup.
