Head gasket help
#1
hello everyone.
So I decided to change my lifters even tho I don't have any problems with the stock ones just kind of insurance.
So while I have the heads off I may aswell get them shaved .30 and do some valve work. I thought of P&P but don't really want to spend that much at the moment.
correct me if I am wrong but with my L33s stock compression at 9.9 with 799s and then with them shaved .30 I should be at 10.4 compression? lets say I wanted to get around 10.6-10.8 compression is there a head gasket that would allow me to get to that compression?
Also if I go to LS7 lifters I will need shorter pushrods then the 7.4s I run now, what length is typically used with .30 milled, LS7 lifter combos?
I have the heads off now and taking them to my buddy tomorrow and would like to order parts asap to get it back together.
Thanks for any help, Mitch

I ordered .40 gaskets and will clay the pistons and see what happens.
I also ordered 7.35 pushrods and will check proper length and hope they will work till I can get the right ones in
my buddy is going to also do some porting on the heads while he has them
