Default Head Choice

looking for some opinions. current set up is lq4, tr224 prc stage 2.5 heads.i also have some stock l92 heads sitting in the shed along with intake and rockers and everything else needed to install them. which heads would you use and why. cam choice is gonna be determined by whichever heads i use. would the swap be enough of a gain to justify the extra work of swapping heads and cam vs just swapping cams? truck is daily driven and rarely sees the track. it is also a crew cab and i have a performabuilt billet 3400 stall.

What intake would you use if you went with the L92's.

why you say that Quik? bc of the compression? do the PRC's out flow the L92s? just a curious question bc everyone is swapping to stock L92s an such.

the Trick Flow as-cast ported head would smoke the head you have on, and certainly the L92's..the L's are just to big for what you have done. If you don't want to go thru the expense of buying rockers as you do with the TrickFlows, I would just stay where you are...

expense of buying rockers? he already has the L92 rockers, girdles, heads, complete intake. i dont think he'd go through the trouble of trying to sell his heads, the L92s and then front the cash for Trickflows.

Keep the cam and add some serious ported heads such as TEA GM 243s or Trickflows. JMO.

the l92s stock arent impressive IMHO for the cost of the swap. ppl still to this day have hard time camming them. if the heads are ported then ppl make numbers and easier to cam. not mention the l92s need the light ls3 valves to really shine

Throw a blower on it, for the price youre going to pay for really nice set of heads and intake you could have a blower and make 100 more rwhp with better driving characteristics. Ive been the big NA route and itnt nearly as nice as a blown vehicle. I know youve ridden in skipperdadyys truck and for no more than is in that truck it runs good all with great street manners I bet.

Im doing a budget FI build with an LQ4, cam and radix. It will have the normal supporting mods and should be 500rwhp easily and that much tq right off the converter(2800). Just my opinion as a radical NA setup got on my nerves when i just wanted to relax and was sitting traffic. I do miss the looks Id get from the cam loping its *** off in traffic though
