Post gunna start buying cam crap, what do i need?

well i already bought my 4.11s, and i will have my eaton by this friday, and my nelson in about 2 weeks, now ima start gathering cam parts for the LQ9 when i get it in march next year, now my question is, what all do i need? i want this to be a very VERY safe engine, so what all should i upgrade with the cam? the cam will be either a 224/224 or a 226/226 on a 112lsa. one question i had is where should i get the cam from? from compcams? lunati? i know HPE said 400 bucks and they could custom grind any cam that i wanted but then again, i hate HPE, so where should i get the cam from, as far as the cam parts, im going to get comp918s already, and hardened pushrods, question on the pushrods, what size do i get? the 7.4" right? and also is there a good brand name to get for pushrods or can i just go with any brand? what else will i need to keep the engine as safe as possible? I want to try to get 100,XXX+ miles on this 12 sec. combo, so what all will i need for extra insurance? thx fellas

EDIT: Flt 4L65E level 5 will be going in at the same time as the new engine

you've hit the main things already for the cam swap, the only other thing i might suggest is titanium retainers for added safety. Also for the future though, performance valve springs will need to be replaced several times over the span of 100k miles, they wear out faster than stock springs usually.

i dont know if you are set on buying from a sponsor but you can get stuff from Futral Motorsports. i got all my cam stuff from them. very good service, quick email replies. they have all kinds of grinds available and will custom grind anything. 7.4" pushrods should be fine. check with the grinder on the base circle though. also, no brand name on the pushrods. most sellers have their own brand or whatever. just make sure they are hardened. if you want EXTRA security, get Ti, retainers, new spring locks, new lifters(but your engine is brand new so never mind), comp918's or you could even go dual spring patriot Gold's for fun.

What about rod bolts? Would changing the rod bolts be good for extra insurance as well?
