Default GT2-3/Trucker/Ultra TQ/Other Cam poll

Swapping the 5.3 for a 6.0.
Radix on top, trying for 8-9#'s boost. Might see a 50 wet shot some day
4:10 gears/Eaton
5800 lbs with me in it

Recommend the Best cam for low end grunt+smooth to mild lope+power to 6K rpm

GT2-3:
207/220, .581/.581 118.5 lsa (I think)

Ultra TQ
DUR @ .004" 272*/280*
DUR @ .050" 210*/218*
LIFT .551/.551 OVERLAP 48* LSA 116*

The Trucker
DUR @ .004" 278*/ 286*
DUR @ .050" 216*/ 224*
* LIFT .551/.551 OVERLAP 53* LSA 115*

Will I NEED hardened pushrods/Springs/Rockers with the one you suggest?
I don't mind a little lope but want good driveabilty
Thanks.

This is where I get confused. The Trucker and the GT2-3 both say they were created for the Radix specifically. But the numbers are so different. Can anyone tell me what the different numbers will mean in the area of:
Low end TQ
Lope
Drivability
Pull up to what rpm?

I have to order this sucker by Friday to get it in time.

to the top because I'm in the market for a cam as well

leaning towards the gt2-3 simply because of a lot of good experiences with it here and over at silveradoss.com

Wow, surprised you don't have more votes than this. I'd be tempted to go over to LS1Tech and post the same question in the LS1-LS6 Internal Engine section, I bet you get many more responses than this. If you do, be sure to remind them you have a truck and give them all the relevant info like weight, gears, tire diameter, etc.

Anyway, I voted for the Trucker, simply because this is going into a 6.0L. I think you can get away with it. If you were sticking with the 5.3L, then I'd say the GT2-3 for sure. But the extra cubes do make a difference. What seems big in a 5.3L can seem 'just right' in a 6.0L. Plus that cam looked lonely with no votes.

Question - will you have an aftermarket TC with either of your new trannies? Reason being, if you don't, there is the slightest chance you will lose a teensy-weensy low end with the Trucker (but maybe not, since you will have the Radix with what, a 2.5" pulley? ).

However, if you even have something like a 2600 stall, you will have zero worries. Too bad guys with 220-224 size cams aren't weighing in here.

I have a tiny bit bigger stall now. 2000 I think. I wont do a stall right now, but when the tranny need replaced I was thinking 2400-2600. I already get 12mpg so I dont want to go any bigger. I heard a sound clip of the Trucker in a 5.3 and it sounds mean. I like it. The wife will hate it. EVEN BETTER!!

only thing I can offer is the LPE GT2-3 idles stock in a 5.3, I couldn't tell anything was there at all so that might not be the one for you.
